A classic dish from Japan which is famous worldwide. This one is better if you use fresh shrimps
Ingredients:
20 large shrimps
30 g cornstarch
60 g flour
1 large egg
70 ml iced water
Oil for frying
Preparation
To make this recipe successful the water has to be really cold.
In a bowl beat the egg with the iced water.
In another bowl combine the flour and cornstarch.
Gradually pour the egg mixture over the flour mixture mixing constantly with a fork.
Preheat the oil. Clean and peel the shrimps (just leave the tail) then dry.
Coat the shrimps with the batter (except the tail) and deep fry for about 3 minutes until golden.
Drain and serve with soy sauce or tartare sauce.
